about me

Artfulness, individuality and flair

I'm an artist now living in Canterbury. During my career I've worked on many diverse creative projects. As a result I've developed into a creative thinker who is an invaluable asset to organisations that require someone who thinks differently.

In creative enterprises where visual ideas have to be compelling to get their message across my approach has been to bring to bear my rich experience and knowledge, and a creative instinct to discount nothing in finding ways to shift the perspective of the viewer, whilst making the idea fit in elegantly with the requirements of the brief.

I'm visually articulate, and have forged my skills in many creative arenas: Fine art, theatre design, illustration, photo-manipulation and restoration, 3D, public and environmental arts, and teaching.

Coming originally from a traditional arts background, I've exploited the depth and breadth of digital media for many years, and am fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as a whole host of other applications. I use these flexibly, and don't hesitate in mixing techniques and styles up to achieve richer visual expressions. Rules are for bending into whichever shape works best.

I've worked on projects which have been playful and light, as well as those which are academic and technical in nature, and I understand the importance of setting the right tone. But whatever the project, be it low or high concept, my aim is always to make a visually compelling statement.

As a teacher of visual arts I provide a balance between ways of doing things, and ways of thinking. Both these are important in enabling those I teach to develop into creative individuals.

If you are looking for someone to generate original ideas, create professional and thought provoking images, or teach with flair, then get in touch.
